Aadi Himani Chamunda

Aadi Himani Chamunda, this temple is dedicated to goddess Chamunda and its been here since nomadic period above 3000 meters from mean sea level where snow melts in the month of March April and that’s why its called as Aadi Himani Chamunda . From According to oldies the fight of Chand Mund asuras was held here with Goddess resulting end of both the Asuras . And so that called as CHAMUNDA DEVI ,13 kilometers away from district headquarter Dharamshala on Palampur Mcleodganj state road the main temple is situated widely known as Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham.

The Nandikeshwar Mahadev temple situated at the new temple complex in Chamunda still hold a big rock on the top which also had a great story. People said when fight held here in the ancient times , divine Goddess Chamunda throw stones from the this temple to kill the asuras Chand and Mund but that big rock never fell down on earth cause of the Shiva Lingam situated at current position till yet.
